Our music programme showcases an exceptional blend of your favorite classical choral highlights, including opera excerpts, musical theatre medleys, and symphonic masterpieces, all while featuring renowned international soloists. Under the baton of our Principal Conductor David Lawrence, we’ll see the return of the Basel Festival Orchestra and soprano Beverley Worboys. Other star soloists include the magnificent up-and-coming young violinist Amira Abouzahra, the Welsh opera singer and famed “Gio Compario” character Wynne Evans, and the brilliant American mezzo-soprano Angela Brower, among others!
We also believe in the power of fun and engagement! Our audience plays a vital role in the performance, which features lively sing-alongs, flag-waving, and a relaxed, festive dress code. Surprise appearances of local Basel traditional “bands” are also a favourite highlight.
